The Job:
As a Mission Concept Engineer, your primary duties will involve orbit determination and the development of GNC/Altitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) systems. This entails conducting simulations, mathematical modelling, and performance evaluations to address the complexities associated with spacecraft refuelling in orbit.
Additionally, you’ll play a key role in early-phase mission and trajectory design, providing insights to spacecraft system development. This involves formulating and assessing mission concepts using the UMPIRE analysis tool, while also contributing to its ongoing enhancement. Founded in 2018, the company focuses on in space refuelling, a first of it’s kind.
The Must-Haves:
- Skilled in creating simulations to analyse spacecraft trajectories and assess Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) performance.
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing GNC algorithms and assessing system performance within an integrated GNC structure.
- Solid foundation in orbital mechanics and dynamics of spaceflight.
- Experience in developing, verifying, and validating simulations, mathematical models, and associated tools.
- Expertise in crafting algorithms for guidance, navigation, and control functions.
- Familiarity with astrodynamics tools like GMAT, STK, or similar software.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or similar equivalents.
- Ability to effectively collaborate within a team setting.
