Job Title: Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Salary: €105,000

The Job:

We are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing security team at a leading proprietary trading firm in Amsterdam. You will be crucial in shaping our security landscape, leading initiatives to strengthen our defences, and ensuring the safety of our data worldwide.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead security projects from concept to deployment across diverse domains, including cloud and on-premises environments.
• Provide problem-solving and support for the organisation at all levels on all security-related matters.
• Collaborate with global tech teams to implement security solutions that align with business objectives.
• Analyse, respond to, and lead efforts on complex security incidents and threats.
• Conduct regular audits and enhance our security frameworks and practices to mitigate emerging risks.
• Mentor and support team members, fostering a proactive security culture.

The Must-Haves:

• 4-8 years of experience in IT security, ideally with a BSc/MSc in Security or a related field.
• Proficiency in automation, programming, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and experience with security tools such as SOAR, EDR, NDR, SIEM, and/or Firewalls.
• Strong analytical skills with expert knowledge of operating systems, networking, and modern security practices.
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural team.
• Expert knowledge of operating systems, networking, cloud, digital assets, and security concepts.

The Nice to Haves:

• Experience working at a Financial or Trading organisation.
• Enthusiasm for continuously learning and teaching new technologies and tools.
