Job Title: Senior System Engineer (Propulsion)

The Job:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-tech global developer/manufacturer of satellite control sub-systems and propulsion systems. The Senior System Engineer plays a pivotal role in product development, ensuring that the design, analysis, testing, verification, and qualification processes adhere to customer specifications. As a key member of the Core Team, the System Engineer collaborates closely with the Program Manager, Product Owner, and Product Assurance Engineer. This team serves as the primary liaison with customers, major subcontractors, and production, with the System Engineer overseeing all technical aspects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Review customer documentation and make informed design decisions.
- Provide technical support for various analyses.
- Maintain the project schedule and budget.
- Conduct functional analysis and system design tasks.
- Evaluate mechanical, structural, and electronic designs.
- Create documentation for data packages for different reviews (EQSR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TRB), including User Manuals, Qualification Status lists, Compliance Matrices, Verification Control Documents, functional analyses, assembly and test procedures, and test reports.
- Assist the supply chain and production departments with technical content.
- Develop assembly/test procedures and coordinate with the test department.
- Provide technical support to production and technical leads during test phases of the project.
The Must-Haves:
- MSc degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience as a System Engineer for chemical propulsion subsystems.
- Proven understanding of fluid system design principles and operations.
- Thorough knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems design, structural and thermal analysis, materials, and testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
The Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with ECSS standards and the Space Design Process Flow (EQSR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, TRB, DRB).
- Understanding of current technology status and market trends related to spaceflight components.
- Practical experience with testing at both component and system levels.
- Intermediate proficiency in Dutch (B1 level).
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel occasionally.
