Job Title: System Engineer

Location: Netherlands

Salary: €40,000 – €60,000

The Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-tech global developer/manufacturer of satellite control sub-systems and components. The System Engineer plays a pivotal role in product development, ensuring that the design, analysis, testing, verification, and qualification processes adhere to customer specifications. As a key member of the Core Team, the System Engineer collaborates closely with the Program Manager, Product Owner, and Product Assurance Engineer. This team serves as the primary liaison with customers, major subcontractors, and production, with the System Engineer overseeing all technical aspects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluate customer documents and make design decisions.
  • Assist in adhering to the schedule and budget constraints.
  • Conduct functional analyses and contribute to system development tasks.
  • Review Mechanical, Structural, and Electronics designs.
  • Prepare documentation for various review stages (EQSR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TRB), including User Manuals, Qualification Status lists, Compliance Matrices, Verification Control Documents, Functional analyses, assembly and test procedures, and test reports.
  • Provide technical support to the supply chain and production departments.
  • Develop test procedures and coordinate testing activities with the Testing Departments.

The Must-Haves:

  • Hands-on experience in a System and/or Expert Engineering capacity within a high-technology, multidisciplinary industry, preferable space.
  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Proficiency with Space components & Systems.
  • Proficient in Mechanical Engineering, with expertise in Structural and Thermal aspects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Assembly Integration and Test Engineering.
  • Proficiency English, reaching C2 level.

The Nice to Haves:

  • Previous involvement in the spaceflight sector, ideally within satellite equipment provision.
  • Familiarity with ECSS standards and Space Design Process Flow (including EQSR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, TRB, DRB).
  • Understanding of the latest technological advancements and market trends in spaceflight components.
