We are looking for an experienced Propulsion Design Engineer with expertise in turbomachinery and cryogenic systems. In this role, you’ll lead the design process from concept through to flight-ready hardware, with a strong focus on mechanical design and CAD modelling.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design, development, and integration of turbomachinery systems such as pumps, turbines, and related components for propulsion.
- Produce detailed CAD models and technical drawings, ensuring adherence to GD&T and manufacturing standards.
- Conduct structural, thermal, and fluid dynamic analyses to validate designs using tools like ANSYS or equivalents.
- Develop assembly and operational procedures for testing and integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of turbomachinery or propulsion systems.
- Expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks or CATIA) and technical drawing generation.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis.
- Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience designing turbopumps or cryogenic fluid systems for rocket engines.
- Detailed experience with turbomachinery components like impellers, turbines, shaft rotor dynamics, and sealing systems.
- Previous experience with rocket engine qualification testing and ground support equipment.
- Experience working with cryogenic fluids, especially liquid oxygen.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ECSS, NASA-STD).
