Job Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Oxford (hybrid working)

Salary: £45,000 – £65,000

The Job:
As a Systems Engineer, your role entails leveraging your expertise, insight, and practical problem-solving skills to address the complexities of space systems. Your responsibilities will encompass leading the conceptualisation, development, testing, and production phases of technologies aimed at establishing an in-orbit propellant supply chain. Founded in 2018, the company focuses on in space refuelling, a first of it’s kind. 

The Must-Haves:

• Varied expertise in developing systems while adhering to designated budgets and schedules.
• Demonstrated proficiency in overseeing the entire lifecycle of a system, from conceptualisation to prototyping, detailed design, assembly, integration, testing, launch, and operational phases.
• Established track record of effective collaboration with space systems engineering teams.
• Comprehensive understanding and practical involvement in one or more of the following areas: Controls, Sensors, Sensor Fusion, Optical Systems, Flight Software Development, Orbital Mechanics, Structures, Mechanisms, Propulsion Systems, Fluid Components, Spacecraft Operations

The Nice to Haves:

• Experience in defining customer requirements and engineering specifications, including the ability to effectively challenge unnecessary or mission-impacting customer demands.
• A Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of relevant engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant engineering experience, or a Ph.D. in a related field.
• A level of expertise and enthusiasm in space systems engineering, with a track record spanning both significant and minor space missions across various institutions, or in other intricate systems.
