In this role, you will work on a diverse range of exciting projects and programs, including the development and construction of satellites, as well as intricate space instruments and mechanisms. Our projects are innovative, technically demanding, and span various areas. You will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from the study phase and design/testing of qualification models to the full integration, testing of flight hardware, and support for launch campaigns.
Your responsibilities will include:- Delivering space projects according to the agreed baseline, ensuring customer satisfaction, and meeting time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Creating, monitoring, and managing the project plan, schedule, risk register, and financial status to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
- Leading and aligning cross-functional technical teams and subcontractors to meet contractual obligations and drive efficient project execution.
- Communicating and reporting on project progress both internally and to the customer, addressing any deviations, issues, or conflicts.
- Managing project risks through proper identification, quantification, and defining mitigation actions.
- Following up with subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of units, analysis, test results, and associated data packs, all within agreed cost and quality.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers.
- Collaborating with resource managers to ensure the project is appropriately resourced and supporting people managers in developing team members.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in an engineering or scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in project management, specifically within space projects.
- Strong knowledge and experience in project management processes and methodologies.
- Proven experience with budget and resource management in a project management context.
- Ability to influence, communicate, and negotiate effectively with all levels of management and project stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
- Prior experience managing projects involving complex technical challenges, such as satellite systems or space instruments.
- Knowledge of space industry-specific project management tools and practices.
